Tasty

This page is dedicated to the tasty stuff that blows my hair back.

Bushmills Whiskey

The oldest surviving whiskey distillery in the world, Bushmills is my tipple of choice when requiring something a little harder than a bottle of wine. The block-standard entry level offering is still better than any of the other mainstream brands. I dare you to do a taste-test and tell me different. Set yo glass of Bushmills against a Bells or a J&B and let the Irish whup ass.

Backsberg Wine

Okay so Backsberg is a sponsor of The Heavy Chef Project which makes me somewhat biased, but believe me this is no lightweight contendor. A lively brand with an ambitious marketing team behind it, this winery is producing some of the best mid-price wines in the country. Even the more educated palate will struggle to argue against a glass of Klein Babylonstoren

The Last Word Hotels

Yolande and I stay at one of TLW hotels at least once a year to take a break from our adorable yet teeth-grindingly challenging family. Their various hideaways are the hidden gems of South African accommodation. The group is the brainchild of Peter Fleck, ex head of Seagrams and South African marketing legend. Peter, assisted by his super-smart team at TLW head quarters, have crafted a truly remarkable experience for their patrons.
